When the muskrat woke up, he was on a mission. First, he cleaned himself, then set out to gather grass. He was so picky, grabbing it with his hands and cutting it with his teeth, stuffing it into his mouth before heading back to the water. Watching him swim with more grass than muskrat was hilarious! He’d dive underwater for minutes, come up without any grass, and repeat the process for hours.

I was fascinated by his behavior. I’m not sure what he was doing down there, but I like to think he was fixing his home. Spending the morning with him felt like a gift.
